Insurance Help

As you may already know, dental insurance can be complicated and difficult to understand.  Patients wonder where to start when considering purchasing a dental benefit policy.  We try to remind our patients that insurance is meant to offset your out of pocket costs and does not usually pay for everything.  Plans usually have strict limitations as to how much or how often they will pay for any particular procedure.  For example, cleanings may only be covered once every six months and you may have a waiting period for one year before a crown will be covered.  Although there are limitations and restrictions, in most cases, patients who routinely require restorative work can benefit from dental coverage.

We work with all insurance companies.  One of the important questions to ask your benefit specialist is, 'Can I see any dentist of my choice?'  HMO plans may limit you to one or more specific dentists and do not allow you the freedom of choosing any dentist outside your network providers.

If you are looking for an individual insurance policy (not offered through your employer), we have compiled some helpful links to assist you in your search.  We are not associated with Morgan White Administrators (DentalForEveryone.com) or AARP.  We chose to include Premier PPO policies with Delta Dental because we are a Delta Dental Premier provider.  These links are provided for informational purposes only.

DentalForEveryone.com

Instructions: You will need to enter your zip code.  You will be given a list of insurance policies to choose from.  We recommend signing up with one of three Delta Dental Premier policies.  Other policy options are either HMO or non-contracted PPOs.

Delta Dental PPO through AARP

AARP has two dental PPO options available to AARP members.  You can submit a request for enrolment information and obtain a quote online.  While we are not listed providers within the PPO (preferred) provider list, we are contracted with Delta Dental Premier.  Patients insured by Delta Dental PPO plans are quoted treatment estimates based on our Delta Dental Premier fees (which are lower than our UCR).  Any difference in the PPO fee allowance and Premier fees are considered patient responsibility.
